General Information
Throughout the week, participants will work through one or more courses on the Nextflow Community Training Portal. The course uses GitHub Codespaces as a free, ready-to-use training environment, eliminating the need for software installation and configuration—only a web browser and a GitHub account are required.
Learn at your own pace: Instructor-led videos will be available on YouTube, guiding you through key Nextflow concepts.
Get live support: Our staff and Nextflow Ambassadors across multiple time zones will be available to answer questions in the Community Forum and on Zoom office hours.
Work as a group: We encourage teams, labs, and local groups to work through the course together virtually or in person.
Certificate opportunity: Register and complete the end-of-week quizzes to earn official completion certificates and demonstrate your newly acquired workflow management skills.

I have seen your announcement for the Nextflow Training Week: Self-Paced Online Training from the Nextflow Creators, and it immediately caught my attention.
I have been a heavy Nextflow user for quite some time, and I am particularly interested in participating in the Advanced part of the training.
However, I noticed that the event starts at 9:00 AM. Unfortunately, I work during the day and therefore cannot attend sessions at that time on weekdays.
I was wondering if it would be possible to participate in the course in the evenings instead. From what I have seen, the training appears to consist largely of video material, so I was hoping there might be some flexibility regarding when participants complete the content.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could let me know whether this would be possible.

Hi Raphael, the training event is largely self-paced so you are absolutely welcome to work through the materials at you convenience. The only live/synchronous portions are a kickoff call in which we explain how it works (where to find the materials etc) and a closing call where we recap things and offer advice for next steps, both with some time dedicated to a live Q&A. The call will be recorded so you can watch that at your convenience later as well.

It’s good to know that I can work through the materials at my own pace and that the live sessions will be recorded. I’ll make sure to watch the kickoff recording, as I’m unable to attend it live.

If I would like to participate in the Advanced Track, should I register for both sessions, or only for the closing session?
You’re very welcome! The sessions are not track-specific; the registration for the sessions is just so we know to send you the links to the video calls. I believe we’ll send everyone the link to the video recordings, but I’ll let my colleague @Lizzie_Bolitho confirm.
That’s great to know. I’ve now registered for the Nextflow Training Week and I’m looking forward to it. I really appreciate that the sessions will be available on-demand, as I won’t be able to attend the opening session live.
